About

History

Dr. Ekdahl opened Chino Valley Family Practice in September, 1987 at the Ranch Plaza, Suite F, a 660 square foot office with x-ray, a minor surgery room, a couple of examination rooms and a very small waiting room. In a short period of time it became evident that the needs of the community were much greater than anticipated and the office expanded into adjacent suites over the next several years.

In 1999, Dr. Ekdahl opened Chino Valley Medical Center, a 7500 square foot urgent care facility, to accommodate the growing demand for primary and urgent care services in the community. The facility had two triage bays for urgent care needs, ten examination rooms, two minor surgery suites, and x-ray.
The following years brought more growth and service demands to the area. In 2002, Dan Earl, D.O. joined Dr. Ekdahl and together, along with a great support staff, they helped to serve the healthcare needs of the community.

In 2007, Chino Valley Medical Center moved it’s business operations to a suite directly behind the facility, and expanded the reception area along with adding three additional examination rooms to form a Fast Track, where patients could been seen for acute minor illnesses without appointments.

Chino Valley Medical Center now covers almost 9,000 square feet and has over forty employees to help serve the medical needs of this growing town. We have children we cared for 20+ years ago who are bringing their children to us today; as family practitioner’s, we consider it an honor and privilege to care for these families.

In March, 2009, we lost a dear friend with the passing of Dr. Dan Earl. He will be fondly remembered by our patients, staff and community. His life blessed us all!
